You work so hard as you attend your pre-license courses, you stay up to date on all of your course studies and sail through school without so much as a bump along the way, but when it comes time to take the test, you freeze.  It happens to the best of us.

The first thing you need to know is that this does not happen because you don’t know the material, it happens because you have a fear of tests which is a very real phobia.  Here are some things that you can do to pass your exam the first time:

• Study hard – This one should almost go without saying, but if you want to pass your exam, you need to study.  Studying is the only way to keep the information fresh in your mind.
• Sample exams – There are a number of sample exams to be found online.  In fact, many of the Real Estate Commission websites have a sample of the actual exam you will be taking on their website.  If you can’t find it, just give them a call and ask.
• Sleep well – Real scientific studies have proven that a well rested person is more likely to retain information and pass their test than a person with less sleep.  The usual desired amount is often somewhere around eight to nine hours, anything more and will begin to reduce the effectiveness.
• Stay confident – Confidence is one of the most important factors in you passing your real estate exam.  A confident person is as much as ten times more likely to pass their test than a person who believes that they will not do well.  I bet you didn’t know that!

Pretty simple isn’t it.  I often call those four S’s of success and they are all you need to get over your phobia and pass your real estate exam on the very first attempt.  It works every time.
